How to make coffee in a French Press

French press is one of the cheapest ways to make a good cup of coffee. All you need is a french press and high quality coffee. Why high quality? Your french press will be very honest with you about the coffee you use: it will not mask any faults or flaws and will emphasize the true spirit of the beverage. If you use bad coffee, you will get a bad drink. Try to use a medium or light roast as a dark roast will be bitter and unpleasant.

So, how to make a big cup of french press:

1. Coarsely grind 0.6oz/18g of coffee and put it in your french press.

2.Pour 250ml/8.8oz of 203F/95C water over the ground coffee

3.  Let it steep for 1 min without the top. After that, break the crust – meaning, stir the top

4.  After that let it steep another 2-3 minutes with the top on

5. Force down the plunger with a steady slow motion.

6. Enjoy!

If you do not finish the coffee, decant it. Do not let steep longer than 4 minutes altogether, or else your coffee will become bitter.

I made these short videos for my Slovak coffee company Green Plantation, and I decided to translate them so I could share them with you. I hope they help you to enjoy your best coffee ever!
